Happy New Year!

January 7, 2018

Hello! Happy New year!

I have officially hit 6 months on the mission! Ahhh crazy to think how fast time flies. If anybody wants to remember me eat a burger this week and send me a picture! Haha!

So last week I wrote about how we went to Mekong Delta! Really fun to get to know the zone better and have a day of normalcy. (is that a word?)

Really sad to hear that President Monson passed away this week. He is resting peacefully hopefully with our security guard. This week our security guard for the church had a stroke and then walked to the hospital and passed away there shortly after. Hopefully President Monson is teaching him the gospel in the spirit world!

This week we went to Thủ Đức for exchanges. Really good learning experience and nice being able to explore a new area. We were able to teach Em Phương and her family a little about the gospel. Em Phương is already a member but her parents are not. It was really good. Then we went back to the house and studied and went to bed. There were not enough beds so.... (see picture below)

We have a new investigator this week. Her name is Chi Phương, different one from Em Phương. We met her in English class, but we will probably have to pass her off to some different elders because she is not in our area. She is really solid and really interested.

While on our way to Thủ Dức we had to take a 2 hour bus ride to get there. While I was contacting two ladies, one of them pulled out a cake/ bread stuff for me. Gave it to me and said eat lunch. This just was a cool moment because it really tells you how nice and how willing the people here are. They are so nice and always wanting to serve people.

Hope you have a happy new year!

Love,
