Vietnam week 3. Sept 24
This week has been crazy. We have been teaching a lot of lessons and biking! Also this week one of the Sister's left to Hong Kong to renew here visa so one of the Sister's in my three-some companionship went to help the other sister in another branch. This Tuesday we have a native joining the mission. So then we will be back to normal and hopefully the American Sister comes back to Veitnam! haha
This week we rode our bike for like 1 hour to a recent convert house. She is this cute little old lady who got baptized a couple of months ago. She lives like on the courner of our area. We teach recent converts here for a year after their baptism. There are many that we teach which is great!
Also on Sunday, we taught a lesson over Skype. There is a Vietnamese sister in Norway who met the missionaries about a month ago and had been learning with them in English but not really understanding. So she wants us to teach her via Skype. It's way different to teach over Skype and see people on a screen. Also weird to use a computer for teaching instead of emailing purposes...
Here in Vietnam we do baptisms on Sunday. This week the Elder's had 8 baptisms. It was cool because Elder Quan, who was in my MTC district, got to baptize 3 people. So cool.
Funny thing that happened this week was, Thu Hong and I were helping a Sister here finish her mission papers. Yay! She finished them and then we went to submit them but Thu Hong did it for her. We didn't realize that we don't go into another page like the others, so she accidentally just pressed "yes" thinking it would go to another page, but it submitted them! We were laughing so hard.
So also here, we don't have printers in our homes. So we go to a printer shop and have to pay money. Recently me and the Elders have been printing off books. I printed off a book with 400 pages for about 44,000 dong, which is about 2 bucks in american money.
Hope your week has been good and life keeps getting better. Best wishes! See you all soon.
